CAS International Communication

The ability to understand and analyse economic issues and their ramifications is an essential prerequisite for a leadership, management or consultancy role in organisational communication. Those working in organisations whose scope is international must also  be able to develop appropriate strategies for working effectively in a multicultural environment, paying due heed to its diversity. Objectives and content

Target audience

The course is designed for graduate communications professionals who already have several years of relevant experience working for commercial companies, NPOs or PR  agencies. It is also aimed at media practitioners keen to develop their understanding of business, economic and international issues.

The Certificate of Advanced Studies in International Communication programme helps its participants to work more effectively in an international environment. The course provides participants with the skills they need to develop and implement communication initiatives strategically – based on the economic and business imperatives of a globalised world. During their course, participants will learn to deal sensitively with a variety of different cultures. Two weeks of intensive study in New York also provide them with invaluable  opportunities for networking with other communications professionals from all over the world.

The participants spend approximately half of their 24 course days in New York, at our partner school, Columbia University, taking part in the summer program 'Strategic Communications: International Perspectives'. The CAS in International Communications is completed by attending selected course days in one of the other CAS programs of the MAS in Communication Management and Leadership at the IAM.
